For Delves: Use Shadow instead of Holy whenever possible for the higher damage output. If using Holy in solo Delves, talent into Dominate Mind for extra utility.
Archon (solid for both Raid and M+)
- Focuses on buffing Halo casts with stronger Surge of Light procs
- Additional Surge of Light procs improve triage healing capability and enable more Holy Word: Serenity casts
- On-use ability integrated into Halo rotation
- Lightweaver variant pairs large Prayer of Healing casts with Spiritwell for spike healing
Oracle (viable alternative)
- Provides excellent single-target healing with Premonition mechanics
- More reactive playstyle around predicting incoming damage windows
Core Priorities:
1. Prayer of Mending — on cooldown; triggers Benediction; feeds the entire healing engine
2. Benediction proc — use the enhanced Flash Heal immediately when it triggers
3. Holy Word: Serenity — on cooldown for strong single-target heal
4. Holy Word: Sanctify — on cooldown for AoE healing
5. Halo — pair with Apotheosis or Divine Hymn for powerful raid heal
6. Heal/Flash Heal — filler; Heal for efficiency, Flash Heal for speed
7. Prayer of Healing — with Lightweaver buff active; group healing
Major Cooldowns:
- Apotheosis — greatly empowers Holy Words; use during high damage phases
- Divine Hymn — massive raid heal; pair with Halo and Apotheosis
- Holy Word: Salvation — full raid heal; use on cooldown during heavy AoE damage
- Guardian Spirit — 40% healing bonus + auto-save on target death; emergency use
- Power Infusion — 20% Haste for 15s; give to highest DPS or yourself during Apotheosis
Intellect > Haste > Critical Strike > Mastery > Versatility
- Haste reduces Holy Word cooldowns (core value)
- Mastery: Echo of Light provides a HoT after each heal — good for sustained healing
- Critical Strike feeds Surge of Light procs
Oracle (primary recommendation)
- Best flexibility in raid; stronger single-target healing options via Premonition mechanics
- Allows excellent output timing around predicted damage windows
- More forgiving for healing when Atonement ramp isn't possible
Voidweaver (M+ and Atonement-heavy play)
- Entropic Rift creates burst Atonement healing windows
- Void Blast replaces Smite during Rift for much stronger Atonement healing
- Overwhelming Shadows provides large Mind Blast modifier — powerful but feels weak when Mind Blast is on cooldown
- More complex timing requirements; requires very specific windows to not fall behind
Atonement:
- Apply to multiple targets before a damage event via PW:Shield, Shadow Mend, or Plea
- Then deal as much damage as possible during the window (Penance, Mind Blast, Smite, Halo)
- Atonement heals scale with your damage output and number of Atonement targets
Inner Light and Shadow (toggle):
- Inner Light: 15% less Mana on healing spells (useful in mana-intensive fights)
- Inner Shadow: 10% spell damage + 10% Atonement healing (default during DPS phases)
- Leave on Inner Shadow during damage windows for better Atonement healing
Dark Archangel: Increases your damage and all Atonement targets' damage by 15% for 8s — strong cooldown for coordinated burst phases.
Ramp Phase (pre-damage event):
1. Apply Atonement to as many raid members as possible: PW:Shield, Shadow Mend, Plea
2. Keep track of Atonement durations — don't let them expire early in the window
Damage Phase (maximize Atonement healing):
1. Penance — highest priority DPS; also direct heals target
2. Mind Blast — on cooldown
3. Void Blast (Voidweaver during Rift)
4. Halo — AoE burst heal via Atonement
5. Smite — filler DPS → Atonement
6. Shadow Word: Death — at execute threshold
Cooldowns:
- Rapture — PW:Shield cost removed for duration; mass Atonement application tool
- Evangelism — extends all active Atonements by 6s; use just before Atonements expire during heavy damage
- Voidwraith / Entropic Rift (Voidweaver) — activate for Void Blast windows
Intellect > Haste > Critical Strike > Mastery > Versatility
- Haste reduces Penance, Mind Blast cooldowns; increases Smite cast speed
- Mastery: Grace increases Atonement healing on targets you've recently directly healed
Core PvP talents: Dispel Magic, Mass Dispel, Leap of Faith, Shadow Word: Death, Power Infusion, Benevolence, Surge of Light, Phantom Reach, Psychic Voice, Mind Control
Inner Shadow in PvP: Keep it on during offensive phases for Atonement healing boost.
Phase Shift (PvP talent): 1-second immunity to attacks and spells — makes landing CC much harder.
Strength of Soul (PvP talent): PW:Shield absorbs physically-heavy hits over time — valuable vs melee cleaves.
Twist of Fate (PvP talent): Damage and healing bonuses when an ally is low — recovery talent.
PvP Stat Priority: Intellect > Versatility > Haste > Mastery > Critical Strike
Midnight key changes:
- Devouring Plague → renamed Shadow Word: Madness (redesigned: deals instant Shadow damage + DoT + spawns Shadowy Apparition)
- Shadow Crash → renamed Tentacle Slam (summons shadowy appendage, applies Vampiric Touch to up to 6 targets)
- Flagellation removed; Symbols of Death removed; Rupture removed
- Shadow Blades now doubles combo points generated (rather than filling to full)
- Voidform now accessed differently; Dark Ascension removed
- New talents: Focused Power, Twin Disciplines, Painful Invocation, Mindpierce, Dark Enlightenment, Improved Voidform
Voidweaver (recommended starting spec)
- Creates Entropic Rift via Void Torrent that pulses AoE damage to nearby enemies
- Void Blast replaces Mind Blast during Rift for much stronger casts
- Devour Matter (Raid): excellent self-defensive options with Void Leech
- Better for raiding thanks to superior self-healing and defensive options
Archon (sustained/M+)
- Revolves around Halo empowering Voidform and casting powerful Mind Flay: Insanity
- Incessant Screams provides an extra stop in M+ (important utility)
- Word of Supremacy: 5% extra Stamina (personal only)
- More sustained damage profile
Opener:
1. Vampiric Touch → Shadow Word: Pain (apply DoTs)
2. Tentacle Slam (apply DoTs to surrounding targets)
3. Void Torrent / Voidform
4. Void Blast (during Rift)
5. Shadow Word: Madness (spend Insanity before cap)
6. Mind Blast on cooldown
7. Mind Flay as filler
Core Priority (Voidweaver):
1. Void Blast — during Entropic Rift window; highest priority
2. Mind Blast — on cooldown; primary Insanity generator
3. Shadow Word: Madness — spend Insanity before capping; maintain DoT on target
4. Tentacle Slam — on cooldown; applies VT to 6 targets; do not cap charges
5. Vampiric Touch — maintain on target (pandemic: refresh at <30% duration)
6. Shadow Word: Pain — maintain on target (pandemic)
7. Mind Flay — filler
Archon Priority:
1. Halo — triggers Voidform empowerment; use to start burst window
2. Mind Flay: Insanity — during Voidform
3. Mind Blast — on cooldown
4. Shadow Word: Madness — Insanity spender
5. Tentacle Slam — on cooldown
6. Vampiric Touch/SWP — maintain
7. Mind Flay — filler
Intellect > Haste ≥ Mastery > Critical Strike > Versatility
- Haste and Mastery are top stats; which is #1 depends on Hero Talent and content
- Voidweaver slightly favors Mastery; Archon slightly favors Haste
- Past 30% of any secondary stat, diminishing returns start applying
- Always sim — stat weights are character-specific
Key tools:
- Mass Dispel — removes magical immunities (Ice Block, Divine Shield); critical team utility
- Dispel Magic — removes single magic effect
- Power Infusion — 20% Haste; pair with Twins of the Sun Priestess to also gain effect when used on ally
- Fade — interrupt protection; use before incoming CC
- Psychic Scream — AoE fear; reliable interrupt/disengage tool
Key PvP changes (Midnight):
- Void Torrent removed from kit; replaced by Voidweaver's Void Blast system
- Emphasis on spread damage via Depth of Shadows and Haunting Shadows talents
- Tentacle Slam (replacing Shadow Crash) applies VT to 6 targets — easier DoT application
- Shadowy Apparitions provide background damage
