Affliction Warlock

Overview

Midnight changes:
- Dark Harvest: new 1-minute cooldown dealing damage to all targets with ≥1 baseline DoT
- Agony: maximum 6 stacks; Sudden Onset dramatically reduces ramp time
- Shared Agony: apply more than 1 Agony per cast
- Summon Darkglare: single target baseline; Nether Plating enables 5-target cleave
- Seed of Corruption: main AoE shard spender; supported by Sow the Seeds, Patient Zero, Nocturnal Yield
- Foul Mouth added: every curse also affects enemies within 10 yards of main target
- Hard swap and target-switch capabilities now on par with Destruction
- Current M+ note: AoE scaling hampered by active bugs (invalidate some Soul Harvester vs Hellcaller distinction); check Icy Veins for hotfix status

Hero Talents

Hellcaller (recommended AoE/M+)
- Shadowflame themed; Wither replaces Corruption; can generate Blackened Soul second DoT
- Malevolence: 1-minute burst cooldown bolstering burst windows
- Superior AoE; worse single-target than Soul Harvester
- Strong Agony uptime value on many targets for shard generation via Hellcaller tree
- New Midnight talents: Through the Felvine (buffed shard spenders during Malevolence), Devil Fruit (Wither procs Malevolence), Alzzin's Iniquity (Malevolence grants extra Haste)

Soul Harvester (recommended ST/Raid)
- Spends shards very aggressively; benefits from many DoT trigger effects
- More Nightfall procs via Sataiel's Volition
- Dark Harvest: must go to 2 shards before casting to avoid overcapping
- Shadow of Death: faster Dominion of Argus setups in Demonology; also useful in Affliction for shard timing
- Better single-target and lower target count performance; worse pure AoE

Tier Set — Affliction 12.0

Core Mechanics

Pandemic Rule:
- DoTs can be refreshed early when they have <30% duration remaining
- This adds the new full duration to the remaining duration (e.g., refresh Agony when it has <6s left)
- Never let DoTs fully expire — maintain pandemic refreshes

Shard Management:
- Never overcap 5 Soul Shards
- Hellcaller: spend methodically around Malevolence window
- Soul Harvester: spend aggressively; use Shadow of Death for fast Dark Harvest setups

Summon Darkglare — Primary Cooldown:
- Amplifies all DoT damage during its window
- Malefic Grasp talent: maximize GCDs on UA and MG during Darkglare
- Ensure Agony has a pandemic-extended duration before Darkglare cast

Rotation — Single Target (Soul Harvester)

Core Priority:
1. Summon Darkglare — on cooldown; major DPS window; pool shards beforehand
2. Dark Harvest — on cooldown; line up with Darkglare; Hellcaller can use standalone
3. Haunt — on cooldown (Hellcaller: Malevolence instead of Haunt; Soul Harvester: Haunt on CD)
4. Unstable Affliction — when at 5 shards OR don't want to cap; Shard Instability procs = free UA
5. Agony — maintain (pandemic refresh at <30%); Shared Agony if multi-target
6. Corruption (or Wither for Hellcaller) — maintain on target
7. Malefic Grasp — channel during Darkglare window for maximum value
8. Drain Soul — filler; shard generator off dying targets; mobility option
9. Shadow Bolt — alternative filler if more mobility needed

Hellcaller adjustments:
- Malevolence on cooldown; use in tandem with Darkglare and Dark Harvest
- Wither replaces Corruption; Blackened Soul second DoT when Wither reaches stack threshold
- Shard spending methodology: more deliberate timing around Malevolence windows

Rotation — Multi-Target (Hellcaller)

Cooldowns

Stat Priority

Intellect > Haste ≥ Mastery > Critical Strike > Versatility
- Mastery: Potent Afflictions increases DoT damage (Agony, Corruption, UA, SoC, Malefic Rapture)
- Haste: increases cast speed, DoT tick frequency, and shard generation via more DoT ticks
- Always sim — weights shift between content types

Consumables

Demonology Warlock

Overview

Midnight changes:
- Summon Demonic Tyrant: now dynamically scales damage based on active Wild Imps and Dreadstalkers
- This shifts setup from pre-Tyrant to post-Tyrant cast sequence
- New Diabolist talents: Diabolic Oculi (Oculi summon from shard spending, explode when Demonic Art consumed), Looks That Kill, Mind's Eye
- New Soul Harvester talents: Manifested Avarice, Shared Vessel, Eternal Hunger

Hero Talents

Diabolist (recommended M+ AoE)
- Diabolic Ritual cycle: summons Overlord, Mother of Chaos, Pit Lord in rotation
- More predictable burst cadence; front-loaded AoE damage
- Diabolic Oculi: summon 3 Oculi per shard spent; explode on Demonic Art consumption — excellent AoE
- Annihilan's Bellow + Oppressive Darkness: 25s cooldown Howl of Terror on 10 targets — major utility
- Soul-Etched Circles: snare/root immunity on Demonic Circle: Teleport + 50% movement speed

Soul Harvester (recommended Raid ST)
- Better single-target and variance-positive profile
- Shadow of Death: much quicker Dominion of Argus setups (fewer GCDs needed before Portal)
- Manifested Avarice: Succulent Soul consumed → chance to trigger Soul Swipe for bonus AoE
- More consistent but less bursty than Diabolist

Apex Talent: Dominion of Argus

Core Mechanics

Demonic Core:
- Generated when Wild Imps despawn or via Shadow Bolt procs
- Allows instant Hand of Gul'dan cast (proc) or Demonbolt cast
- Maximum 10 stacks — never waste by overcapping; spend during cooldown windows

Demonic Tyrant Interaction:
- When Tyrant is summoned, all active demons have their duration extended by 15s
- The goal is to have maximum active demons when Tyrant is cast (Call Dreadstalkers extending window is critical)
- Tyrant's damage now scales dynamically with active Wild Imps and Dreadstalkers

Implosion:
- Detonates all Wild Imps for burst damage
- Use at 6 imps: AoE benefit on 2+ targets; also gains single-target value with To Hell and Back talent
- With To Hell and Back (Diabolist): Implosion is worthwhile in single-target due to additional Wild Imp generation

Rotation — Single Target (Soul Harvester)

Opener:
1. Power Siphon (before pull)
2. Shadow Bolt
3. Call Dreadstalkers
4. Grimoire: Felguard (if talented)
5. Summon Demonic Tyrant (as many demons active as possible) + potion
6. Hand of Gul'dan × 2 (quickly before Tyrant expires)
7. Demonbolt (consume Demonic Cores)
8. Hand of Gul'dan spam to sustain demons
9. Shadow Bolt / Infernal Bolt as filler

Core Priority:
1. Call Dreadstalkers — highest priority to extend into Tyrant window
2. Summon Demonic Tyrant — align with max active demons; use with trinkets and potion
3. Grimoire: Felguard — on cooldown; pairs with Tyrant
4. Hand of Gul'dan — spend 4-5 shards; never overcap 5 shards; summons Wild Imps
5. Demonbolt — at 2+ Demonic Core stacks
6. Power Siphon — on cooldown; generates Demonic Cores and buffs next Kill Command equivalent
7. Infernal Bolt — filler between GCDs
8. Shadow Bolt — final filler; shard generator

NEVER: Overcap 5 Soul Shards

AoE note: Rotation is nearly identical to single-target — most Demonology damage cleaves around the main target automatically. Add Implosion at 6 imps.

Cooldowns

Stat Priority

Intellect > Haste ≈ Crit ≈ Mastery > Versatility
- Secondary stats are close in value; prioritizing item level is generally best
- Balanced stat distribution preferred over stacking any single secondary
- Always sim — different builds (Diabolist vs Soul Harvester) have slightly different preferences

Consumables

Destruction Warlock

Overview

Season 1 tuning (March 2026): Destruction received additional changes — check Icy Veins for post-launch tuning notes on specific ability adjustments.

Hero Talents

Hellcaller (recommended Raid)
- Shadowflame integration with Malevolence burst window
- DoT-heavy playstyle cross-pollinating with Destruction's existing Immolate
- Strongest single-target performance window

Diabolist (recommended M+)
- Diabolic Ritual cycle provides AoE burst via Overlord/Pit Lord summons
- Strong front-loaded AoE; matches M+ trash/burst profile

Core Mechanics

Burning Embers:
- Resource generated by Incinerate, Conflagrate, and Rain of Fire
- Spent by Chaos Bolt (main spender) and Rain of Fire (AoE)
- Cap at 4 Embers; never overcap

Backdraft:
- Procs from Conflagrate; makes next 3 Incinerates instant (or speeds up CB cast)
- Consume Backdraft stacks quickly; they time out

Havoc:
- Causes one target to mirror Chaos Bolts aimed at another — primary cleave mechanic
- Use Chaos Bolt during Havoc window on cleave fights

Rotation — Single Target (Hellcaller)

Core Priority:
1. Dimensional Rift — on cooldown (if talented)
2. Chaos Bolt — at 3+ Embers, during cooldown windows, or at max Embers
3. Conflagrate — on cooldown; generates Backdraft and Embers
4. Malevolence (Hellcaller) — on cooldown; aligns with Summon Infernal
5. Summon Infernal — on cooldown; pair with Malevolence and trinkets
6. Immolate — maintain DoT (pandemic)
7. Incinerate — primary filler; consume Backdraft charges

AoE (M+):
- Rain of Fire — primary AoE Ember dump at 3+ targets
- Cataclysm — applies Immolate to all targets; AoE Ember generation
- Havoc on target; Chaos Bolt to mirror to all Havoc targets
- Infernal immediately after pull for AoE pressure

Cooldowns

Stat Priority

Intellect > Haste > Critical Strike > Mastery > Versatility
- Haste reduces Chaos Bolt cast time and increases overall cast frequency
- Critical Strike benefits Chaos Bolt's guaranteed crit interactions with some talents

Consumables

Same as Affliction and Demonology.
