This charter is a living document. Membership in Drunken Safari constitutes agreement to abide by these rules. Updates are made by the GM or designated Officers.
Mission & Core Values
Mission: Build a community that is fun, low-drama, and capable of tackling endgame content together โ without losing the casual spirit that makes the guild worth being in.
- Don't ruin the Safari for others. Everything else flows from this.
- Treat people with respect. Inside the guild and out. How you act reflects on all of us.
- Game first, ego second. No one's role, rank, or gear score makes them better than anyone else here.
- Communicate. Most problems come from silence. When something's wrong, say so โ to the right person, in the right way.
- Use the tools. Addons, Discord, spreadsheets โ if the guild uses it and you need it to participate, learn it.
Rank Structure
| Rank | Who | Authority | Bank Access |
| GM | Madmortagan | Final say on all guild decisions | Full |
| Officer | Trusted long-term members chosen by GM | Recruit, mediate conflict, represent guild | Extended |
| Raid Lead | Appointed by GM | Run raid night, manage roster, report to GM | Standard |
| Role Lead | Appointed by Raid Lead | Manage their role in raid | Standard |
| Raider | Active core raid team members | โ | Standard |
| Member | General guild member | โ | Standard |
| Alt | Alts of any rank | โ | Limited |
| Inactive | Members on extended break | โ | None |
Officer Expectations
Officers are the backbone of the guild between raid nights. The role is about service, not status.
Responsibilities
- Recruit new members and vouch for their character โ you own that referral
- Be a first point of contact for member questions, concerns, or conflicts
- Mediate disputes privately and calmly before escalating to the GM
- Represent the guild professionally in interactions outside the guild
- Keep the GM informed of issues before they become problems
Conduct
- Officers do not have unilateral authority to remove members โ that requires GM approval
- No power-tripping. Rules exist to make things fun, not to control people
- If you mess up, own it. Officers are held to a higher standard
- Officer status is invite-only. Asking for the role is typically disqualifying
Inactivity: Officers inactive for 90 days without notice will be returned to Member rank.
Membership
Joining
- New members are invited at Officer or GM discretion
- Joining means you've read and accept this charter and the Discord rules
- New members start at the Member rank
Alts
- Alts of guild members are welcome โ note your main in your officer note
- Alts in other guilds are permitted. If your main is here, that's what matters
- A gquit by your main is a gquit by your alts โ no exceptions without prior GM approval
Inactivity & Removal
| Role | Grace Period | Action |
| Member | 90 days no login | Removed from roster |
| Officer | 90 days no login | Returned to Member rank |
| Raider | 3 unexcused raid absences | Roster review |
| Inactive rank | Opt-in for extended breaks | Protected from removal indefinitely |
If you know you'll be gone, tell an Officer or the GM. You'll be moved to Inactive and your spot is held. No notice = no guarantee.
Conduct
- Be cool to people
- Keep it WoW-related (off-topic is fine in the right channels)
- No drama, no harassment, no NSFW
- No cheating, exploits, or TOS violations โ zero tolerance
- Officers have final say, and they'll talk to you before acting
The One Real Rule: Don't ruin the Safari for others. If everyone's still having fun, you're doing it right.
